Can't Get EZDrummer To Show Up in X2 Pro
Okay, I’m trying to get EZDrummer loaded into Sonar X2 Pro because I have some projects I recorded with that soft synth in X1 LE, but I don’t recall exactly how I was able to get EZDrummer loaded into LE a few months back.
I’ve followed the online tutorial directions that I’ve found both on Sonar University/Cake TV and on youtube, but I’m obviously missing an important step somewhere. So, please allow me to briefly walk through my process, and see if you can identify what where I’m falling short. I’m not in front of my DAW right now; so, I’m doing this by memory.
1. I go to edit/preferences and from there proceed to “VST settings.”
2. In VST settings I go to “add plugin” and the browse to the folder containing Toontracks/EZdrummer.
3. I double click on the file and it shows up in the VST window.
4. Then I hit “scan file,” and it scans the file. Then I click on the “apply” button.
5. Next I go to the “insert” button. From insert I go to “manage plugins.”
6. In the “manage plugins” window I scroll to “VST plugins” or whatever it’s termed.
7. Now, I can see all my current VST plugins that are bundled with X2, but there’s no EZDrummer yet.
8. Next I go to options, and in that window I see what looks like the EZDrummer file. Then I click on “scan file” or “scan folder”—can’t remember exactly what it’s called offhand—and the program scans the file.
9. But this is where I’m at a loss: I see the file get scanned, but once it’s complete nothing happens. EZDrummer is still nowhere to be seen.
Obviously, I missing a critical step here, and as always, your time, assistance, and suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
Chris
