Can't Uninstall Free Kontakt Player

Kontakt is crashing Sonar and NI support communities say that the free player is corrupted.  When I try to update the free player in Service Center, the update fails.
 
Since I own Kontakt 5 and it is current, I don't need the free player.  How do I get rid of it?

Sometimes the uninstall database is corrupted, and often reinstalling the application (or repairing if that is an option) will put it into a state that the uninstall will work.  Sometimes uninstall will fail due to running components, so running the Windows uninstall from safe mode will often help. Applications like Revo Uninstaller Free will sometimes work when standard methods fail. And of course you should check with the application developer site to see if they offer an uninstaller specific to the application. Your situation may be complicated by the possibility of shared components between the full program and the lite version, but if uninstalling one kills the other, then you can just reinstall the one you want to keep.

Edit: Just tried, and it does not have an uninstall function.

Usually there is an uninstall program in the same directory where Kontakt can be found. You may end up deleting all versions of Kontakt but it's only a brief job reinstalling the full version.

BTW you don't have to install from the Service Centre. You can always install from the installation.exe which is available from your online account. A bit like Cakewalk except that Service centre will find NI programs that were installed without going through the Service Centre.
