Can't delete fades. Can't change fade lengths with "fade clips".

Sonar X1 Essential.

I used "fade clips" to add a 10ms fade in fade out to a bunch of clips.
Worked that first time. But when I go back to alter that fade time to make it longer (on the same group of clips), the "fade clips" dialog comes up but any changes I make don't take effect. And there's no "undo" step (indicating it didn't do anything).

So if I can't edit them I decide to delete all those fades and reapply new ones with the parameters I want. This did not work either.

Can I use "fade clips" to change the fade times?
Can I delete fades?
Are there entries in the event list that represent these fades? (I could maybe delete those)

Thanks for any help

What it sounds like you have done is a PROCESSED Fade,
undo (ctrl+z) is your only chance of, well... undo them. But if you have made other adjustments and added to your project, that's not really goin to be an option.

I think you're going to have to replace all the faded clips by importing the orginial clips back in to the project and lining them up with the faded ones.

From now on I'd suggest you use the clip fade function,
when in magic tool mode (the star), drag in the start/end (fade in/out) using the top half og the clip. This will create an EDITABLE fade that can be re-adjusted at any point.(by dragging at the little triangle at the top of the faded part.
Also if you right clip on the fade you will get options for the type of fade (Fast, Slow, linear)

Hope that makes sense to you.

    Hi Thanks.

I still have the edit handles on every clip and I can change them one at a time. But there's 32 sequential clips. The problem is I can't remove the fades and also can't reset them using "fade clips". So I can't work them all at once even though I could create them all at once.

But I do see I could re-import the clips to apply new fades...Just was hoping not having to do that for each adjustment of the whole group.

I thought maybe I was just missing something...maybe it's not there...

    Thanks for the tips...
