Can't find certain menus

Hi,

I use Sonar Home Studio 6.2.2. The manual mentions several features, such as the Process-Audio-Fade/Envelope and Process-Audio-Remove Silence options, which I can not find in the Process menu of the application, where they should be according to the book. I opened the Menu Editor to check whether these submenus were hidden or disabled, but that’s not the case.

Any idea what’s wrong here?

Thanks in advance.

Yeah...Cakewalk is sort of notorious for that sort of thing. In the two examples you give, even the online help seems to be wanting.

I think that sometimes a base manual for different products is authored, and then differentiated accordingly for the individual products, sometimes changes are made to the programming that is not documented, and sometimes the manual is just wrong.

For your fade, try from the menu "process-fade selected clips".

I don't know where the "remove silence" is. Look around for it, otherwise slap a gate in the effects bin, or work with splitting/muting clips.

Thanks rbecker, it helps to know that the manual is wrong, so that I won't be searching for something that can't be found. I appreciate the alternatives you suggested.
