Can't get the metronome sound to rout to buss

Hi all
I can't seem to hear the metronome in Sonar Platinum where I create the metronome buss...  A big part of my work is getting omf dumps out of protools, and when I do that, I need to create my master and metronome buses in the project.  However, now when I create a buss and name it "metronome" (or whatever name) and set the preferences > metronome > "Use Audio Metronome" output to the name of my metronome buss, I cannot hear the metronome during playback or record when they are toggled on.  I also don't see the meter moving up and down in the bus.  Anyone have any ideas as to why?  Is there a new step that I'm missing?

This sounds like the random metronome problem which occurs sometimes in SONAR during record/playback.
Try toggling the "FX" (Bypass Audio All Effects) button on the control bar.
"Toggling" meaning to press the "FX" button twice, either on-off or off-on.
