Can't hear anything

Sonar Plat. Only audio is the onboard SC. All other cards removed. I can play wav files no trouble ikn any other audio programme.

SNAR...nada. It can't see the onboard as a device. Master is assigned to a silaent device.

Just want to hear something. Very frustrated

I would try WASAPI exclusive mode, to see if it makes a difference.

Hi. I assume you mean don't tick "Allow other programmes to share control"? It did not work. WDM is all that does work. It has latency, but for my porpoises that's ok

imo you will have to go to your computers hardware settings and find that soundcard/chip there and set it as default.
then open Sonar and under 'Preferences' select that device, and it should be ok for WDM drivers.

Instead of choosing for WDM driver mode, try what Ken suggested above: Wasapi exclusive driver mode.  This mode was released recently by the bakers and is receiving good opinions.

Hi guys. I have the card working in WDM, but WASAPI gives me nothing. I do not have the choice of WASAPI shared or exclusive in the driver mode list. I read that I should be able to set up something in my device's properties dbox, but I see no such settings.

Sigh.....I was trying to keep things simple.

Do you have the latest version of Plat,, WASAPI support was not added until November.
And it's possible that some on board cards are not supported. How old is you computer?

I would get a good audio interface. The on board sound chip is inadequate to use with Sonar.
