Can't install Rapture on Mac
I just tried to instal Rapture on my Mac Mini (since it seems to be the only Cakewalk product I can install on Mac) but the installer won't accept my serial and keeps saying it can't open writeregkey because PowerPc applications are not supported. It would have been useful for the installer to warn me of that BEFORE I installed it - now I've probably got folders all over the place and still can't run it. When is it being updated to support modern Mac's?

IMHO, something is wrong with the latest Rapture installers, be it MAC or PC. And I would very much appreciate the Cakewalk Team, looking into the problems.

Are you on OSX Lion? I have a solution that works to get Rapture running on Lion. As a workaround for the non functioning installer on OSX. Best, Chad

I emailed support awhile back and got a reply saying there is no timeline for updating Rapture or Dimension to be Lion compatible. As far as I'm conserned this really sucks big time, I bought them no longer than a year ago. I can now understand why they were on sale.

Hey, My solution only works if you have a working installation of Rapture on 10.6 or earlier that you can copy the files from. But I'll PM it for you anyways if you find an older system to install it on. Cheers, Chad

i am currently installing rapture on my laptop with 10.6.8 so that i can do your fix to put it onto my mac pro with lion. could i get the instructions too???? just picked it up during the $20 sale as well hahaha.

Chad - I would very much like to see this work around please. I've tried doing some stuff and I feel like I'm so close to getting it working BUT I must be missing some small but crucial piece. - and does the same thing work for Dpro as for Rapture?

Hi, I just posted asking for help, but figured it out. If you have a drive/partition/other computer where Rapture was successfully installed (i.e. a 10.6.8 or lower system) and you need to install Rapture on your 10.7+ system, then copy /Applications/Cakewalk/Rapture /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/Rapture.component (the AudioUnit Version) /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/Rapture.vst (VST version, I assume, I only ever installed the AU version) wherever the RTAS version is installed (don't use RTAS, so I don't install this version either) /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Rapture Content /Library/Preferences/com.cakewalk.Rapture.plist /Library/Preferences/com.cakewalk.rp.plist from the old harddive to the new one. The PList files were the key to getting everything to work right. Worked for me. Good luck, Brian
