Can't install Z3TA+2 from the X1 discs
Having recently gotten a new machine and installed X3 afresh, I tried to install Z3TA+2 from my X1 Production Suite discs (it came with the package). Not wanted to actually install X1, I just unchecked everything in the installer except for Z3TA+2 and let it do its thing. It certainly seemed to install it OK from first appearances. However, when I run either the standalone or the VST, the synth appears but I get an error message saying that it wasn't installed properly, and I can't get any sound out of it. I'm not exactly sure what it means by not having installed correctly, but I can't find any registry entries pertaining to it. There is no uninstaller provided either. Just wondering what I should do from here. Theoretically, I should have been able to install it without installing X1, right? Or being part of the X1 Production Suite, was it tied to that program?

scook There should be an updated copy of Z3TA+2 in your store account http://www.cakewalk.com/S...reader.aspx/2007013264
I don't have it. My serial number for X1 Production Suite is dated 8/31/12 - I don't think Z3TA+2 has been updated since then? There's nothing pertaining to it in my store account. I bought Production Suite in a store so all I have are the disks. You should be able to just install Z3TA+2 from it but it's not working.

Hi, Sharke, there's indeed an update for Z3TA+2 (Z3TA+2.1) as Scook stated.

The date on the page Scook linked to is 10/4/2011. I'm pretty sure the version I got on the disk was 2.1. Given that I didn't buy the X1 Production suit until late 2012, an update wouldn't be showing in my account.

Did you notice this message in the installation process? "Welcome to the Z3TA+ 2.1 Setup Wizard"

No I didn't get anything like that - everything happened within the X1 installer. I saw all the files being copied, and like I say I was able to actually load the synth, it just said it wasn't installed properly. Since I can't find any registry entries pertaining to Z3TA+2 then I'm guessing at least part of the problem is that.

I am surprised that Z3TA+2 is integrated into the X1 installation. It has it's own installer and the download version version of the X1 Production Suite supplies Z3TA+2 as a separate file.

Me too. In fact I'm fairly sure that Z3ta+2 wasn't even released until a long time after Sonar X1. The original manual for Z3ta+2 dates from September 2011.

The X1 Production Suite was a bundle including X1 Producer, the X1 Producer Expanded, Z2TA+2 and the PC4K Exp/Gate module.
