Can't modify ride cymbal sound in Studio Instruments Drum Kit

Hello,

When bringing the velocity of my ride cymbal down from 120 to 2 - I do not hear any change in the cymbal sound.  I thought it was velocity-sensitive.  I've also tried changing the MIDI note between the three ride cymbal options:

Here's a demonstrating the issue:

How do I change the cymbal sound?

Looking at the samples, there appear to be 8 velocity layers for the default ride cymbal. You can edit rides.sfz to see how they're arranged, e.g. 14_Ride_Top_01.wav is for velocity values 34 and below, 14_Rid_Top_02.wav is 35-59, etc. You may have to adjust the velocity a little more in order to trigger the next higher/lower sample. I would also expect the differences between samples to be subtle, as you really have to hit a ride cymbal pretty hard or soft to hear a big change in tone, as opposed to a drum.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

The problem was the Vel+ setting was at 127 on the track:
