Can't open existing projects or sound library

I didn't use Sonar Steam Edition for a few months and yesterday I started it and saw that I can't open existing projects or sound library - application is completely freezes.
I tried to reinstall Sonar, but it didn't help.
I have 2 hard drives(C: and D:). Sonar installed on D: When I'm trying to open content from D:, Sonar is freezes.
Running Sonar in administrator mode also didn't help.
OS: Windows 10.
What can I do to fix that?

Is your message SonarPLT has stopped working? You might want to check Windows event viewer to see what the error is, I suspect Windows update needs to be run

No messages, interface just freezing and I can see high CPU usage. I can wait infinite amount of time and nothing will happen, so I have to close app manually. I have auto-updates on my OS..

Content as in projects?   If so, what happens when those projects are on your C:?

I can't open projects from both hard drives(C: and D:).
Also I can browse files in the media browser on drive C, but if I try to browse files on D:, Sonar freezes.

    3 things...

1- could be a soundcard problem.
2- could be a hardware problem,
3- could also be a plug in. but if its happening on all projects then probably not.

    for a plug in issue:
Try to Open in safe mode: Hold down SHIFT and try opening a project. then go one by one.

for soundcard, check your drivers and connection.
for hardware (lets wait on that till we can eliminate a plug in or soundcard.)

to get the best possible help here you really need to list your set up, not just your OS.
I don't even know, what are you using for a soundcard ?

    Thanks for help.

All worked fine a few months ago(I didn't use Sonar for a while). I think there is no problems with soundcard or hardware, because if I create new project and work with it, everything works fine, until I quit and try to reopen saved project. Also I didn't install new plugins. Sonar just stopped to work normally after one of the updates.
I'm using notebook with embedded soundcard (VIA HD audio). Core i7 4700MQ, 12 Gb RAM, Geforce GTX 765M, SSD(C:) + HDD(D:).

Opening project in safe mode helped somehow - I realised that if I won't load "LRS track bus: GroovePlayer" plugin, then all my projects opens normally. But I'm still getting freezes, when I try to browse disk D: in media browser.

What should I do to permanently fix error with GroovePlayer? Any other ideas on how to fix freezing in media browser?

Just curious.... what happens if you right-click on the SONAR shortcut and Run As Administrator?   Also, Windows doesn't happen to have any updates pending?

I wrote about this in my first message, but I already tried to run Sonar as an administrator. I'm a software developer, which occasionally making some sound effects. I'm sure that my system is up to date.

I even bought Sonar Platinum(I thought that differences in versions can help me to fix that bug), but it didn't help.
I tried to reinstall Sonar again, tried to delete all content in C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Roaming\Cakewalk, but it also didn't help.
I tried to write to the Cakewalk support, but no answer for 4 days...

I'm still getting freezes, when I try to browse disk D: in media browser.

have you checked your D drive for errors ?
I know it might not solve all your issues here but typically when opening a drive causes a crash, the disk is to blame.
like I said it might not be your whole problem but it might be contributing, especially if your streaming your audio files from that disk (Disk D)

Sounds like one of the windows updates broke your ability to stream audio. Have you tried system recall? Going back to before it was broke? Then you can add the updates (a few at a time) till you find the culprit.

I don't have any recall points and I can't reinstall my OS, because I'm using it for work and it will require weeks(or even months) to return everything to the same state. And I think that Sonar can stream audio, because it works fine with sound until restart project and it also can stream audio from libraries on drive C:

I used chkdsk and I can see that my drive D: is fine. I also tried to copy some media files from D:\XXX\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Content\Audio Library to the drive C: and I can play it fine from C:. Sonar isn't crashes, it just freezes and starts using CPU very intensive, which means that it continue doing something in a cycle and can't exit this cycle, which is causing hangs. Maybe there is a log file for Sonar, where I can see errors?

Two things to do before going for a clean install:
    1. Launch Sonar while holding CTRL key. This will (re-)personalize settings.
    2. Open your project while holding SHIFT key. This will allow to disable any plugins or soft-synths, or both.

Sorry, but I already tried it and it's not solved the problems.
I already wrote about it, but opening project in safe mode gave me only the knowledge that if I won't load "LRS track bus: GroovePlayer" plugin, then all my projects can be loaded(but without this plugin, which is not good as I think). But Sonar still hanging, when I'm trying to browse disk D: in media browser(Sonar was installed on drive D:). And I want to know what's wrong with this plugin(because it's a default plugin as I know).

It's a DXi plugin. I've had some issues with it and TTS-1 too. DXi soft-synths should be loaded first, before other VSTis. Otherwise Sonar may get crashed.

And what can I do to load it first? When I'm trying to open a project, I already got a popup from Sonar, that all plugins are successfully loaded...

You can re-save your project with just DXi synths, re-assign other VSTis and in the future avoid adding DXis after the project has a number of VSTis added.

I didn't add any DXi synths to my projects. Looks like Sonar adds GroovePlayer dependency automatically and there is no such synth in my projects(I can't see it in synth tab).
