Can't record. Please help.

I've done the Volume Control/Properties thing. I've troubleshot my SoundMAX sound card. I've done everything Cakewalk Help has told me to do. I checked the Microphone Boost box. What else can I do to make this darn thing record, guys?

My mic preamp works fine, as does my mic.

Thanks for any help you can provide, my good friends.

Try recording with the Sound Recorder in Windows. If threr's no recording, it's your settings somewhere. Doubleclick the volume icon (bottom right) select OPTIONS>PROPERTIES>RECORDING and make sure you have LINE IN enabled.
Check to see if your line in isn't plugged into the mic input.

I may be repeating what you have already done over and over...

Have you recorded sound in any other aps?
