Can't record at all in Sonar 8

Hello All, I have a new computer windows 7 64 bit system.  Loads of memory but can not record anything.  I'm using an Creative Audigy2 zs platinum sound card.  All my drivers are compatible with windows 7 (I ran a test)  I can't get it to record.  Not in mic, or what U hear, or line in etc.

I'm at a loss here.  Don't know if it's Sonar, windows or the sound card.   Any help would be appreciated.

Go to Options-Audio-Drivers. Is the Audigy selected for input and output? Go to Options-Audio-Driver mode and set it to WDM (or ASIO).

I'll be the first to leap in - do yourself a favour and ditch the soundcard.

Grab yourself a decent one that's dedicated to recording and not to gaming.

There is VERY little wrong with Win 7

There is VERY little wrong with Sonar 8.5.3 (you've upgraded to 8.5.3 yes?)

    That only leaves one thing.

Can you recomend a decent sound card?  I'm just an amature so it does not have to be the best but very good would be good.

Hi Dave,   the driver selected is "Creative"   the one  I usually use SB audigy 2 sz etc.   is grayed out.  Any idea how I can "ungray it?"

    Thanks

soundcard recommendations are on my website.

you shouldn't make more than one thread about the same question.  keep the same question in the same thread.  I asked you questions in the other thread because I didn't konw about this one.  that keeps us from being able to help if we have to look at 2 or more threads to find the same information.

which driver mode do you have it set to currently?  WDM or ASIO?

I have tried setting it to both asio and WDM.   I have read on the web about others having difficulty with this sound card and 64 bit systems.  I may just need to upgrade.  It was also suggested to me that I switch to a DA Controller (interface) for recording.   My computer also has realtech sound card.  I suppose there could be conflict or confusion with the 2 systems.
