Can't see Waves in Sonar 8.5

I just got my upgrade to 8.5 and decided to try installing it under Windows System 7 64 bit.  Everything seems fine and all my plug ins work, EXCEPT for my most important ones: namely my Waves 6.0.8 Platinum bundle.  The plug ins load okay, but there is no user interface when I open them.  It's just an empty box.

I have turned off X ray, but that didn't help.  Turning off X ray used to solve this under XP.

I've also tried using jbridge with and without shell2vst tool.  No luck at all.

Any ideas anyone?  I'd love to be able to use 64 bit.  Otherwise I'll install on XP Pro 32 bit.

Thanks.

Do a search on Waves plugins and 64-bit OS - I'm pretty sure the conclusion is they will not work on a 64-bit OS.

I'll have three fingers of Glenlivet, with a little bit of pepper... and some cheese.

    I've had Waves Diamond working fine on the trail vers of 8.02 on XP 64-bit but I don't know about Win7 though. I'm curious when you say;

"I've also tried using jbridge with and without shell2vst tool."

To get them working you just use shell2vst to install them into a new directory of your choice and then point the plugin manager to that directory, Sonar should do the rest. This is for XP X64 though don't know if it will work with W7.

We all know that Waves are officially not suported by Cakewalk Sonar, nor x64 systems.

No worries blurecordingstudios, they may not be "officially supported" but I'm quite enjoying L1, L2 and all the other great plugs right here right now on X64 OS, albeit not the latest version 6 which I hear there's some problems with.

Delonasn; an edit to the previous post. Shellvst will create the 64 bit dll's in a file for you, you then drag them into a folder of your choice.
Hope you can get them running the L1/L2's are too nice, now my go to's apart from UAD's 1176LN.  I'd check the threads though to see perhaps it's known they don't work on Win7 64.

Are you using the DX version/
Have you tried closing the plugin window and re-openning the plugin. This works for vst. DX's will open on the first time.
Also, Waves isnt 64bit ready. soem plugins may work, but most may not. If the DX doesnt work or openning it the 2nd time doesnt work, then install sonar32. If you dotn want to do that, then you cant use thw wave's plugins. yuo should have researched before going full blown 64.

Although the GUI is just empty, is the plug in working? Also try what CJ said about shutting the GUI (not deleting the plug in) and reopening - works sometimes for Waves stuff.
Had this many many times over the years with Waves products, one of the reasons don't use them much anymore

Try looking at the beach. There are plenty of waves there. I can see them.

I only had 2 Waves plugins from the Diamond bundle that wouldn't initially won't work in X64, the Linear Multiband and one other (forgot what it was) but both are working now. Surprisingly I find the Waves plugins run better than a lot of other plugins running on Bitbridge including UAD(-1).

Why do you say stuff like this? You say in another post that quad cores are not supported either. Where do get this information?

Waves is supported by Cakewalk. That poster is incorrect. Cake supports VST's and DX's. Waves makes plugins in DX and VST's. Ive used many many many wave plugins in sonar with no problems at all.
