Casio privia & sonar problems
My casio has trouble recording to sonar. The behavior was very odd, it took me a while just to detail the problem. I was wondering if anybody else had similar problems, or is even using a privia with sonar? Here we go: 1) I set "patch" and "bank" to none so that patch changes don't go to the privia. Sonar still seems to send a message to the privia that turns on a filter, so that all patches sound eq'd. 2) Changing patches doesn't help. However, when I go to the memory banks (called "registers" on the privia) I can reset the patch, BUT, sonar stops recognizing the privia for recording, although it still playsback through the privia and the privia shows up on the list of instruments. Other programs still recognize the privia. 3) If I exit sonar and restart, the problem persists. If I exit sonar, turn off and then turn on the privia, and restart sonar, Sonar now recognizes the privia for recording, although I have to reset the input back to the privia. Obviously, this is very odd behavior. Any clues? Thanks. UPDATE: Apparently the problem had to do with the "internal/external" button on the casio. If set to both, it caused some strange filtering.
