Caught in nasty repeating sound loop?

I'm mixing down a voice over. When I try to add some EQ (this is the path to the EQ I'm using... AUDIO FX/Sonitus:fx/Equalizer) my sound freezes on this nasty looping sound and I get a message that Sonar needs to close.

This has happened in the past, but it's sporadic. Anyone know why this could be happening?

Thanks.

Computer specs, soundcard, etc. Could be feedback. Where are you putting the EQ? Need more info.

I'm running Windows Vista, 64-bit, 4.00 GB with a Intel Core Extrem CPU X7900 dual 2.80 GHz.

I'm using Sonar 7 Studio Edition with the Edirol UA-25.

Daveny5... I'm not sure what you mean by "Where are you putting the EQ"?

    thx!

By where, I meant in the track or on a bus or in a Fx send.

Sonar 7 Studio? - you should be in the Sonar Producer and Studio Forum unless you meant Sonar 7 Home Studio.

Do you have Input Echo on? What microphone do you have?

Do any other Sonitus effects do that?

    Thanks daveny5.

I'm using it on a track.

I'm using Sonar 7 Studio Edition - I must not have entered the thread in the right forum.

Where would I find Input Echo to check if it's on?

I'm not sure the exact model but it's an AudioTech mic.

This error only occurs when I use the EQ effect.
