I particularly appreciate that the last update fixed the "crash upon opening CbB when it tries to load particular instruments." Big improvement to my quality of life when working with CbB.

CbB is the most stable crash free version in many years. This is no accident, Noel and others have worked hard to achieve this. I've used Cakewalk since 1992 and have seen a lot of bugs and instability. With my setup I immediately noticed a difference and this has continued for about 6 months. I've been using 2018.07 for a month and am very pleased. I'm looking forward to the future and feel confident Bandlab will do a fine job, better than Gibson and Roland.

hmmm your comments make me reconsider switching from SPLAT to CbB earlier than planned. Glad to hear you guys find it stable, very promising.

I've almost never had crashes in SPLAT. CbB is equally solid in that respect. Audio engine halts are bit more common for me. Whenever I did have a crash or audio engine halt in SPLAT (or CbB) it's because I've attempted to do some kinds of edit while the song was playing. Things like setting a clip fade/length or adding/deleting an FX. Sometimes even adjusting certain FX parameters. Agin, only when the song is playing. However I can say with certainty that these things do not cause crashes or audio dropouts in Studio One Pro V4 or Reaper.

It's been working very well for me - and I'm the type that uses CbB as a tape machine , console, effects and configurable synth and edit on the whole thing - type Oh guy - Editing while playing does seem like a silly hobby in my opinion. :) just saying - be patient grasshopper, stopping playback to perform an edit is not so old school in my opinion.
