Yep, this issue has finally forced me upgrade to a 64bit laptop (that and the fact my older laptop's fan has stopped working and I have to use a cold pack underneath it if I use it for longer than about 10 minutes or it overheats and auto shuts down).

The upshot is I now have a clean install of CbB and it didn't take too long to reinstall all my shiny new 64bit versions of all my Instruments and Plug Ins (as well as culling the ones I really never use). I can also add many more Plug Ins and Instruments to a project without having to bounce down quite so often. AND, because I have a SSD as my C: drive, it's much, much quicker.

Another big surprise was the fact that transferring some of my old projects over to the new laptop, they still open and work. I didn't think that was possible. I haven't tried this with every project I'm working on, but so far so good.
