Saw this in the Reaper forum as well.  I hope that the Cakewalk developers are on this.  It would be a big help for us Melodyne users.

I think Cakewalk would be more inclined to stay away from it since they support V Vocal.

I'm hoping that they see it differently.  It's not quite apples to apples since V-Vocal doesn't support multi-pitched audio.  Only the bottom tier Melodyne product is competitive with V-Vocal, I would think.

The Reaper developers seemed to show some interest in it and they have a pitch tuning plugin included with their product as well.

ARA are a FREE extension like VST and ReWire. So what are Cakewalk waiting on? Let's go and add it to SONAR.
+ many with me wants VST3 as well...

-Highly developed spirits often encounter resistance from mediocre minds. -It really matters!

V Vocal is a joke compare to Melodyne. It's not the same ball game!
Melodyne and ARA are far more superior than V-vocal...

Since Vvocal hasn't really been developed any further in awhile (although it is still useful) I say let it lay and add ARA as a valued added feature that will improve our workflow experience. Seems like a good thing and a no-brainer to me. Great opportunity for them expand Sonar with little effort on their part. What do say Cakewalk? Is it even up for consideration? Granted Roland recently introduced R-Mix (which I thought would make its way into Vvocal and Sonar) Melodyne is already and a staple in modern music production. Ignoring it would send the wrong message. Just saying...

We end users have to consider the expense to Cakewalk to implement the feature.  A lot of testing will have to be done to insure that ARA won't break something else so let's at least be considerate (at least diplomatic) in our comparisons of V-Vocal and Melodyne.
