Celtic Starise- Magi Eli
This was an effort to merge celtic sounds with a middle eastern flavor. I noted comments on my last mix and I have added slightly more bass depth to this mix, but nothing like a pop or rock mix.Comments appreciated! https://soundcloud.com/st...eltic-starise-magi-eli

Great stuff Tim - I love the mix of the cultures. So you play all of these instruments right?

Very cool... I always liked that Middle Eastern feel and I think you've pulled it off well while still with a modern-ish sounding mix. Are those violins?

I think you nailed the mid east style pretty good. Good choice of instruments and well balanced. Maybe I would have put up the flute a little more. Nice work, it's always interesting hearing different music styles!

Love the bouzouki, that's a great sound and really makes this track. Very nice indeed.

Hi Tim, Good vibe. I like the tune and do like the ..."round sound you get out of it" . Great job . Cheers, Olivier.

Having lived in the mid-east for several years (KSA) I say you did a great job capturing that vibe. And I can definitely hear the celtic influence underlying the mid-east vibe...both nicely melded. It brought back a lot of memories. Nice job Starise.

I always love what you do and this is no exception. The fusion of the middle eastern themes is brilliant. And it suits the idea of Magi who were Eastern "wise men" and scholars. I like the mix with the added low end too.

When I saw Celtic in the title, I just had to listen to this. You blended the styles nicely, creating interest. Great job!

Thanks to all who commented on this song! I am making some time to get back here to listen and comment as well. I can't really listen at my day job, so I'll do that in the evening. I appreciate all who took the time to listen and comment. Daryl- I played the violins on the keyboard this time I am taking violin lessons and it's coming along well..I hope to be using my real violin by years end in some of these songs. Thanks! SteveC- Thank you! It's a sampled violin yes...and it isn't nearly as realistic as a real violin :) Leizer- Thanks Leizer! Yes I had wondered the same thing...maybe I should put the flute up some. James- Thanks! I used a two mono mic configuration. Two different mics. I have another one almost completed. It isn't middle eastern...more celtic only. Oliver- Thank you! Mesh- Thanks for your comments! Much appreciated! Mike- Thank you! I am glad to hear that it retained the feel I was looking for. What is KSA? Two years in a different culture has to be trying at times. mikeinfla- Thank you! DRank- Thanks for your comments. It is as I had hoped it would be then!:) gruverider- Thank you! Scotty- I appreciate and value your opinions. Thank you!

it's a nice piece, starise.... i like the sounds, the melody, it's a bit hypnotic, which i would think was the vibe you were going for i really like the chord change ups when they happen, the main riff is a bit repetitive for me, would like to hear a little more divergence.... you could call this "the dream of Cú Chulainn" because it's so peaceful, and he was so not. LOL

I listened the other day but I had very tired furry lugs so I did not want to say anything just in case. Had a better listen today so here is what I have to say
