"Cemetery Wind" (Guitar Instrumental Intro Video)

Hi, Guys,

I've been really busy with work and away from the forum for a while, but I'm trying to stay involved and find some time to work on some new music and get back here more often to catch up!

This is just a video for a very short 2 minute instrumental intro that leads into a different full song from my first CD which I released a few years back.  Some of the long time forum members might remember it when I first posted the test mix way back when, but I never ended up posting the video of the finished song.

So, today was a beautiful, sunny 75 degree day here in Northeast Pennsylvania, which is a rarity considering it looked like the weather in this video only 48 hours ago!  So I figured it was at least something different to post.

Just a little back story.  I came up with the title and clean rhythm guitar part while standing at my Mother's grave around midnight two nights after her funeral way back in 1987.  I remember running home to quickly record it into an old Radio Shack cassette desk recorder so I wouldn't forget the very basic chord progression.  It is what it is, and pretty much represents exactly how I felt at the time.

It's nothing fancy, but please check out the video if you can, and let me know what you think.  And once again, thanks again for all your generous input and help here in the past!

Bob, as always, you've created a beautiful work of art.  You must have loved your mother very much, and I appreciate hearing where the inspiration comes from.  Thanks for your help and advise over the years.

Nice one Bob, music and video are well matched. Love that deep growly guitar tone against the glacial arpeggios.

What can I say to a track that clearly sounds from the heart? Loved the tone of the guitar and it all sits with the video very nicely.

    Hi, James,

How are things, my friend?  I hope you're having a fantastic week!

Thank you very much for checking out the video and for your kind words, I greatly appreciate your always excellent input and help on all my stuff!

Way back when I recorded this I used my first PRS, an SE Custom 24 25th Anniversary for both parts and I had only bought it a couple days before and wanted to try it out.  So, I hit the record button and slapped it all together with all one shot takes in less than 40 minutes!  I know it was only a short intro to another song, but it was the fastest "complete" recording and mix I had ever done!  But, it was sort of a relief to get it out from under my belt after all those years.

Thanks again for all your help here over the years, your friendship means a lot to me!

    Have a super weekend, James!

    Hi, Steve,

Sincere thanks for taking time to check out the video, and for your encouraging comments!  I truly appreciate your input and also for having a look at the "Carry Me" video while you were there.

Yes, Sir, it was an emotional time for me, and even now 30 years later, when I listen to the track I can almost feel the biting wind, snow and sleet hitting my face as I stood there in the darkness still in a state of disbelief.  It's really amazing how music can pull things back to the surface after being etched into memory years and decades earlier!

Thanks again for checking it out, and have a fantastic rockin' weekend, brother!

Very cool Bob!  I do the same thing with recording fragments of music so I don't lose them. Loved the chorus guitar tone and when the solo fired up the tone reminded me of Joe Satriani. Great video for the song too.
