Change MIDI instrument
Hello, I am using MC 5. I like using the staff to input the notes. I save it on a flash card and play it on a Casio WK500 from the card. I have a few questions about this process. 1. It always play back as piano. Is there a way to change this to one of the other options the Casio supports? such as a stringed instrument? 2. On the staff... is there a way to instert repeated sections? So far I have not found a way and have to copy and paste it again for each verse.. this makes for a very long printout. I am just starting to get familiar with the program. I scanned through the forum first but did not find these answers. Thank you for your time. Danner

1) you can use the EVENT list to add patch changes to your MIDI files. VIEW>EVENT LIST to access it. however, you're going to need to know the bank and patch NUMBERS (not names) of the casio's patch sounds. that should be in your casio manual. 2) no. not if you're asking if it will show repeats like normal notation does. you just have to lasso it and copy and paste, no repeats allowed beacuse it's a linear sequencer.

Thank you Beagle for the information. I won't have to keep searching on the staff question now. I'll see if i can figure out the bank and patch numbers. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. Danner

You can change the instrument easily inside MC5..... on the staff and print out.... yeah, MC doesn't allow repeats and codas and stuff like that.... You have to play it all the way through, and if you print it that's how it prints too.... keep in mind that cake products are not designed to do scoring..... they are designed to do recording. A short cut would be to save a sub version of the song pasted and copied to reflect the repeats and codas and such..... that would shorten the print out. for example in a song: A B A B C B B you could edit it to A B C B and insert the repeats yourself. That would make the print out much shorter.

And to think I was actually trying to be serious..... when the brilliant... well, it seemed so at the time, that the song structure oft used in Sweden ..... of.... verse, chorus, chorus, verse.... or more commonly referred to as ABBA......uhhhhhhhh forget it....!
