Changing clip heading/synths/using pc or electronic keyboard for midi controller
Hi,
I am a new user of Sonar X3 Studio edition. I used Sonar several years ago for some projects in school and I've finally decided to dive back into the world of recording and working with a DAW.
I went to use Melodyne as a region FX, but then deleted (as far as I can tell) the fx off of the track. The heading of the clip itself, not the title of the entire track which is easily changeable in the stack of tracks in the mix on the left side, still has the <melodyne> prefix added to it. After multiple attempts to right click the clip and see how I could change the name of the clip within the track to remove this prefix, I still can't seem to find out how to do this.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Also, is there a resource that can help explain the purpose of the synth list that you can bring up on the right side panel view rather than just inserting one as a track? I know you can insert something as a synth and a track, but what's the purpose of just having it in the synth list?
How do you go about setting up your PC's keyboard to use as a midi controller or using a separate electronic keyboard midi controller via USB that I've already installed USB drivers for? Sonar pops up a box recognizing that the electronic keyboard midi controller connected when it is plugged in. I would like to be able to record say, the provided midi session drummer kit, into a track by either of these means.
