Changing playback behavior to not return to starting point

I just upgraded from Sonar 2 to Sonar X2 Studio and I'm having a fun time re-learning Sonar.

One of the things that is currently driving me nuts is the playback/stop behavior of returning to the starting point.  Don't get me wrong, I can see this having lots of uses, but right now I'd love to return to the earlier behavior of stopping wherever I hit stop.

Thanks.

I'll probably have a lot more questions, the software has changed a ton.

Thanks.

In your project, in the Track Pane, under Options, there is an option to Rewind to Now Marker on Stop - try checking that and see if that gives you what you are looking for.  Just uncheck it to change it back to a full reset to zero, if you ever want to revert.

That option seems to be project specific.

ctrl-space will stop at current position without rewind.

Pressing W once during playback does the same as ctrl-space, but is easier to press.
You can also assign a shortcut key for Play/Pause (which does not move the Now Marker).

And, Ctrl+W toggles the "On Stop, Rewind to Now Marker" option (BTW, it's a global option).

Thanks, Jlien X - I wasn't sure and was too tired too look it up.  I saw it under the options tab in track pane and thought it was a project-specific option.

In any case, I hope that between everybody the original poster has some choices that will work.

    Great answers, thanks so much.

So far, I'm enjoying Sonar X2, but I hate learning curves.

I ordered Garrigus's book for my Nook, I'll be reading all weekend.
