Changing the key of SI Instrument samples

Hi, I would like to use the SI Instruments I have in X3 but I don't know how to change the key of the samples. Is it even possible? Please if anyone can tell me how to do this with the SI-Bass and SI-Electric Piano. Thanks in advance.

I don't think you can change the samples, for example an A4 440Hz sampled at A4 should remain that way.

What you can do is adjust the key of the notes used in the MIDI pattern to play the instrument, up or down.

To do this, you visit the Sonar track inspector for the SI instrument track, select the MIDI tab, and look for "Key +" down near the bottom.  You can adjust the key up or down in semitones (+12 or -12 to an octave).

This should transpose any MIDI notes played either from your controller, or from a MIDI clip in the instrument track.

Unfortunately, this does not affect the MIDI patterns played within the SI interface itself.  But the good news is, you can drag and drop that pattern from SI as a MIDI clip right onto your Sonar track view.  Then edit and combine as many MIDI clips there as you wish.

You can also use the Piano Roll View to edit the MIDI patterns as you wish, once they are copied to the instrument track as MIDI clips.

SI Bass, EP and Strings all have a transpose control directly in their GUIs

Hey Bob, thanks!  I never noticed that "T" on the GUI before.  Must be my old eyes, LOL!!!
