Channel Tools and X1b w/Hotfixes

Came across an unusual problem on current project.  When I try to install channel tools on a stereo track, my screen locks (but the audio plays) and then I get the NOT RESPONDING message in the title bar but then, much to my total surprise, I get an OP 15 error code with Channel Tools in a small error box.  When I close the error, my system is back under control (I can save, edit etc.) but when I try and change the settings on the channel tool instance, same thing.  So, I delete it from the project and all is well.

I am running in x64 with plenty of ram and this happens on any channel I try and insert the channel tools.  System has been running in x64 for a long time now.  I am using Win7.

Any insights?
