Not signing it because it has to many false statments. Example they didn't promise us a lifetime of free plug ins at all. It was very clear it was bug fixes and basic updates. There would have been additional charges if something new was added in the manner of things like drum replacer or a big plug in like AD2 or Melodyn. As a matter of fact we appearently should not have received the CA leveling Amp for free. it was to have been a add on at a price. And a sure fired way to get this forum shut down is posting junk like this. Gibson is paying for this forum ya know.. We like this forum.

@Cactus: I was merely asking about this link that I came across, not promoting it. This post was not asking anyone to sign the petition nor to embrace it. To me, it was an interesting post and was surprised that someone had actually worked it up. I like this forum, too, and have been on it a bit longer than you, but facts are facts and the truth is the truth, meaning Gibson is not a company that I have come to revere lately even though I own a Gibson SG and several Epiphones. In all reality, Gibson will probably shut down the forum eventually due to the cost. Sonar's only hope is for another company to purchase it and carry on with it. I am still using Sonar, but realize, that unless someone picks up where Gibson left off, it will eventually melt and fade out of existence, admittedly not for a long time.

The wording of that petition is ridiculous. Demanding "hard disk copies of the products they bought & repay the lifetime subscribers" - I'm sorry but that is based on absolutely nothing. By what line of reasoning would they owe us a hard copy on disk? And why should lifetime subscribers be refunded? As Noel pointed out in another thread, the Lifetime Updates offer was a one off in 2016, and the people who bought it got 20 months of updates, which is quite reasonable for the money paid. "Or repay all of us our money down to the last plug-in and penny" -- sheesh, get a grip! I notice whomever wrote it didn't even trouble themselves to spell check it either. I'm sorry I've just about had it at this point with anyone who is still too clueless to understand that "lifetime updates" does NOT and has NEVER and WILL never mean "for the rest of your natural life," I don't care what the product is or who the company is.

Might wanna rethink the word "revere" above - did you mean something else?

What is this thing with people demanding discs? Don't they know how burn their own, and why would you want physical media that can get scratched/corrupted?

Things like this might get taken a little more seriously if they were written in compelling and correct prose rather than looking like the ramblings of a spoilt child.

I've just looked at the petition again. I'm sorry but it reads like a badly punctuated and ungrammatical text message tapped out in haste by a seven year old on their phone. Whatever possesses albeit well-intentioned folk to think that such supplications will be taken seriously if the author can't even be bothered to present a cogent and compelling argument using proper sentence structure and correct punctuation. Come on people, at least get the absolute basics right.

Indeed mate. It was less a question, more a rhetorical exasperation.
