ChordPulse - One More Look

The ChordPulse developer hasn't updated anything since late 2015. No news there.

This weekend I unraveled some how to techniques using it and want to share the concept.

Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

    I've found it quite useful as a quick and dirty Band in a Box equivalent (although much simpler). I think it was scook who recommended it.
    The midi files also import nicely into Sonar.
    Only issue I have had is that it tends to use short notes for "drones/pads" etc and uses sustain to make them sound for longer.
    This results in lots of stuck notes and I usually end up removing the sustain cc's and lengthening the notes to the required length manually.

    Agreed the Midi is importable. So as a stand-alone it does its thing and then you can import the resulting Midi.

    I'm posting about a step forward from that starting point. I've posted a method in the Sonar section of the forum that's not too hard (but it helps to have a tour guide to get there) which allows us to play ChordPulse Midi live within Sonar as you edit within ChordPulse. This allows us to choose our own softsynth sounds and record the Midi that's playing directly into Sonar. Which is pretty cool. It opens up new possibilities. I thought I'd pass the how to do it info along to everyone here.

    Never heard of ChordPulse. Finding out some great info here as a noobie.
