Christmas Song: Carol Of The Guitars

Hi everyone.

This is one I started about 5 years ago but never finished. I think this is probably as far as I'm going to get with it.

Hope everyone enjoys.

Instruments:

Session Drummer 3.
Digitech RPX-7 (W/ Built in tube pre-amp) multi-effects unit.
1984 Jap. Fender Strat. w/EMG Gold pickups.
Dimension Pro for the bass.

Merry Christmas.

Carol Of The Guitars

Yeah i think morenoise summed it up pretty well.

Some great guitarplaying and tones you've got in this.

Adding some vocals would work well i reckon.

Cool....very TSO-like. I like it  a lot! It would be extra cool with the melody down the middle and a third harmony to the left.

Oh, yeah, that's sweet!  Sorta reminds me of Mannheim Steamroller, one of all-time favorite groups.  It doesn't exactly sound unfinished to me...just a little short I suppose.  The song is repetitious enough that it's challenging to make it interesting for 3.5 minutes, though, eh?  :-)  I think I attempted it by changing time signature from 6/8  to 4/4 halfway through, which took way longer to make 'work' than I'd hoped. Anyway, yeah, I love this.  Do some more!  :-)

Very good guitar playing.   You did a very good job arranging this tune.   I kind of agree with Janet about it ending too soon.

Thanks every for the great response. :)

It is kind of short. It's something I started and never finished so I figured I'd throw it out there the way it was.

    Merry Christmas.

    Loved it Bub!

    Excellent git harmonies.

Reminded me of something TSO would do.

Love love LOVE IT!  I realize that I've put out nothing but angelic sounding harp music, but I'm a loud guitar guy at heart.  Listening to this really has me itching to record some rock now.  Great job dude!

i agree it's almost touching on TSO or less-wankey Yngwie...very cool. too short though...needed to go mad after the intro. good chops Bubster!

    I love it.

With a remix to make it a bit heavier, and a mid summer release, this thing could go big as "classically inspired" metal.

How do you feel about extensions?

    Nice playing and great imagination.

    best,

Get it finished.  Great work.  I think vocals would screw it up.

great stuff Bub!  love it!  I don't think it needs vox, but I do agree you should finish it!  I agree with mark (mgh) that you should "go nuts" after the intro!

After all the responses I got to this I decided to redo it in the same style and go all out with it, but you'll have to wait until next year to hear it! :)

Merry Christmas everyone. And as always, thanks for all the great feedback.
