Chromaphone at 1/2 off -- my favorite Black Friday Deal at the Cakewalk Store

I just got the Chromaphone synth for 1/2 off. I had never heard of this synth, but I was very impressed by the demos. After getting it and playing with it I realized it's a no-brainer deal.

Here's a piece that I just did, that is all Chromaphone: http://soundcloud.com/mike-leghorn/neptunian-distractions (plus Valahalla Room for reverb).

Btw, as I was working on this in X2, I made various annoying posts on this thread whenever I got frustrated with an X2 bug. If you were annoyed by those posts, maybe this piece can help make up for it.

    That was a great deal but imo Chromaphone reminds me too much of Native Instruments Prism which was only $39.50 at the Native Instruments store. That said NI got my money instead. Damn you Native Instruments I am just going to buy Komplete and get it over with lol

    Prism is an excellent synth, once you get a feel for the parameters.

    Nice piece by the way. I wish I could play keyboards like that! I get the feeling that Chromaphone is geared more to the keyboard player rather than those of us who bung notes ham fistedly into the PRV. It certainly sounds amazing though.

    Hey Sharke, thanks for listening and commenting. Actually, this is a product of my unique (apparently) work flow in X2. I do most of my work in PRV, and rely heavily on the editing functions, such as:

    -> Copy and paste MIDI between tracks.
    -> Expand or shrink phrases.
    -> Shift notes in all the tracks left or right. I do this a lot as the structure of the piece continually evolves.

    I frequently work with the same sets of notes, reusing them over and over again in different tracks, with the various instances modified in some way. This saves me from having to enter in so many notes, plus it helps make the piece more cohesive by developing and elaborating on just a few ideas.

    Apparently I push X2 to the limit by using over 50 simple instrument tracks.

    Chromaphone doesn't seem very heavy on the CPU, and certainly not on RAM, since it doesn't use samples.

    I think today is the last day you can get Chromaphone at 1/2 off. Here's another track I just completed that's all Chromaphone (plus Valhalla Room for reverb):
