Greetings Wookie!

I'm relatively new to this review stuff, and this type of music is not what I usually listen to, so I'm not any kind of authority on it.  Having said that, I did enjoy it   I listened to it 3 times.  I can't really give much in the way of constructive advice other than to maybe turn down the "lead" synthesizer a little.  Very nice stuff -- actually looking forward to hearing some more.

Cheers!

Very cool piece - I like all the different textures and how you've "glued" them all together.   Nice dynamics and use of automation. And the synth solo lines are very cool.

This is a wonderful composition John! Amazing sounds going on here and it just flows together so nicely. I just couldn't pick out one particular part I liked, as there were many 'parts' I liked.

While listening, I was watching the Carpenter Bees do their dance routine outside my window as the sun is starting to go down and it really provided a great visual to this!! Is 'wow' acceptable??

Thank you Larry such kind words from a man of your skills is indeed humbling.

Hi,

I liked this - sounded very fresh despite the use of older analog sounds.

I also liked that there was no percussion and that the tune kept it's own rhythm - although at about 3:40 I had to count the beats coz I was sure I heard a 7/8 bar in there... but it was my imagination.

Thanks for sharing!

Cheers,
Terry (not the solid one ;-) ).

My fav of yours to date!

I gather you didn't try to proudly ultra-compress the master, in order to allow your sensitive and subtle synth dynamics this beautiful interplay.

A lot of vibe builds up by 1.5 minutes then cools like a refreshing river toward the outro.

Refreshing indeed!

John, very amazing work.  If you hadn't mentioned JMJ I would have picked out the influence.  Very much like his earlier works like Oxygene.

Thank you Philip no compression just a little limiting to bring up the level.

John, I've never listened to JMJ, even tho I have heard of him.  so I wouldn't know this association except you told us!

anyway - this is really good, as is all of your work.  I'm listening on cans, but I'd like to hear a little more low end.  maybe add a little more rumbling growling synth bass part?  just a suggestion.

really good stuff!

Thanks Reece, yes some more bass growl would be nice but Soundclick does not do nice things to bass I have noticed.  If you want to hear the 24 bit drop me a PM.

Hi, John,

Wow, I just caught this as it slid onto page #2, and I'm very glad that I didn't miss it!  This is just a fantastic piece of well written and amazingly performed "synth art".

I'm on my third listen, and I love the rich, flowing textures and the variations of warm classic synth tones and how they sit perfectly in the crystal clear, pro sounding mix.  I agree with the JMJ reference mentioned, and I also possibly detect a bit of Gino Vanelli or maybe an Ambrosia vibe.  I used to wear out Ambrosia's "Life Beyond L.A." and "Somewhere I've Never Traveled" vinyl albums, and some of your synth sounds brought them directly to mind.

Wonderful work, best wishes!
Bob
