Circumstances - Pre and Post LANDR Mastering

I mixed this song in SPLAT as part of my  Dueling Mixes membership. It's my third attempt at mixing a complete song. Hope you like what I've done :-)

Im very impressed. not as much with Landr
but the song itself. its a piece of art.

I believe for this particular type of song/ this type of mix Landr will shine. however on busier mixes, I find Landr sometimes gets lost "and similar to a wind up toy doing circles in a corner" it doesn't know what to do except compress the level.
    magnificent song.

It's a cool song, a great up front vocal, and I definitely liked your original mix better. The LANDR treatment was like a steamroller turning dynamics into pancakes. In other words, "radio ready."   :)

I'm not familiar with Dueling Mixes - is this your songwriting and performing, or is it your mix of someone else's work?

    cheers,

For me the difference was that one was louder and noisier than the other, I will leave you to work out which one, basic mix sounded fine.

I agree with above ......and those that don't realize (?...my first try)...you can open both tracks at same time in Scloud and A/B against each other ....diff open windows though..but works.

I agree with esoul, the upfront vocals are nice.  Very good lyrics.  Borderline R&B. Definitely a well crafted song, top notch.

I have no real opinion on the landr vs you mixes.  the drums were a bit more defined on the landr, but I think that could be fixed on your own.  What kit is that?

I did notice at 3:34 or so the vocals were mixed way up, and then they go back down.  Did you notice that or is it just me?  Neverthemore, a masterful song and great production.

Both are great mixes. The LANDR mix to me sounded like it clipped the treble a bit, not in a terrible way though. I was thinking of at least trying this service once. Anyway I will plod on with my stuff.

I liked the tune and arrangement, very well recorded. I also enjoyed the muted type drums on this track, really cool sounding.

On another note, no pun intended, I did try LANDR myself on one my tracks and all it did was make it louder, which is easily achieved with Oxford Inflator.
