"City visit" - With Lyrics (little different drums)

Now I have written english lyrics so now I can give it an appropriate title: City visit

Imaginary visit back to a city where I lived. Thinking of memories.

Just a note on the side to say you appeared to get a couple of duplicate posts so they have been removed.

As for your song, well not a singer my self so no comment on the vocal performance but the recording does sound a bit little like they were recorded in a box perhaps a little over compressed or a bit more top/air in the mix for them.

For me the tune feels like it could do with a little more development and arrangement, perhaps a breakdown or a middle 8 just to add some variation.  Will keep the furry ears out for any updates you might consider.

    Hi Wokiee,
    Thanks for listening.
Well, my equipment is quite "humble" so with the mixing "talent" of mine it is quite a challenge to make it sound studio-excellent but I try my best.
Tune: yes, I will try to rearrange it a bit and maybe rerecord the vocals. This was my first song with english lyrics that I publicly posted. Interesting feeling..

When you warn that you're 'not much of a singer' I expect the worst.  But really, your singing is fine -- you have much more fluidity in your phrasing and emotion in your tone than you might imagine (more than many of the old-hand stalwarts on this forum if truth ever was told). You convey a sense of emotion that is appropriate to this song -- nostalgia, longing, etc.  I get what you're after in this DEMO and you achieved it.  I kept thinking how a good Euro producer could -- with a beefed-up arrangement and vocals harmonies added to your vocal -- could make this commercial, yet still maintain the artistic sense of the song.  And, I like the chord changes that you have here as well as other touches (like the guitar lines) -- but the drums, as you probably know, need more flexibility.  All in all, you have much to work with -- any way you can get a producer to take notice?

I find my self agreeing with Allan again but on a different song --- this one.  Your vocals sound very good.  The tone of this vocal performance has a bit of a John Lennon sound and would lend itself to some harmonies (probably high harmonies).  You don't oversell (a pet peeve of mine) the song but your style definitely demonstrates a melancholy that matches the lyrics.

    Nice one!!!

    Allan, Beagle, Freddy,
    Thanks for the comments!

I have changed the drums a little bit. I know I still have more to change but this is my first little step.

The guitar sounds are great...and it sounds kind of "Bowie-esque" to me...
    Nice!
