Clean install of X1 Upgrade

Clean install of X1 Upgrade

I am considering buying the upgrade from 8.5 PE to X1 PE, though I plan to wait for the next patch (Feb or March) if I do decide to upgrade.

I also plan to wipe my system drive, reinstall Win 7 and other software.  If I buy the upgrade from 8.5, do I need to install 8.5 first or can I do a clean install of X1 from the upgrade?

    No need to install 8.5, just install X1 and let 'er rip.

    Upgrade only refers to the pricing. All versions are complete fully contained installations.

    A timely thread, thanks!  I'm ordering a new DAW and was wondering if I needed to go back and install a whole series of versions.

    Intel Sandy Bridge i7 2600 @ 3.4GHz, 4 cores, 8 threads, 16GB RAM.
    OS & Programs drive: 240GB SSD
    Data drives: 1 x 1TB drive RAID mirrored, plus extra 1TB data drive 
    Windows 10 Home 64 bit
    Cakewalk by BandLab 64 bit, Studio One 3,     Band In A Box 2016, Ozone 8
