Click track in Sonar x1

Hi guys

I'm just trying to get to grips with Sonar x1.

I've used Reaper in the past and would like to step up to Sonar x1.

How do I set a click track?

I can't find anything on the net to show me how to set a click track and set different tempo's.

I can't wait to start up a project and get some guitars recorded to learn more but I'm stumped on the first hurdle!

Any help would be great thank you

its the metronome.. you can have it audible during record, or during play or during both.. you can also direct it to a separate track/output if you desire.

Yup.... In the controlbar you'll see the transport module. There's three buttons to the right of the display window.

One for metronome on during record, one for playback, and one for the settings.

You can use an audio note or a MIDI note to a hardware synth if you have one.

I  just hate using the metronome. I like making my own click track with a drum soft synth. Hearing drums rather than that annoying "tick tick tock tick tick tick tock" just makes me feel better and in return I record better takes.

    Think about it, will ya!!!

In addition to the above-mentioned guidelines, you may also use the Tempo View (under Views), and in it you set tempo changes at various times for your project. The metronome will follow the tempo "map" that you create here.

One very nice thing about using the tempo view and the metronome--if you decide to change any tempo markings, just update the tempo view and your project follows it AND you don't have to re-create another click track. Think of Tempo View as a real-time click track?

    +1..., on glorified click-tracks as I like to call'em.

I often use the metronome for percussion and effects. using delay and panning, reverb, pitch change,..

I use a bunch of CAL scripts to add notes (qtr,... on the one, every other measure, on the 1/2,....), delete notes  (every other, 5 of 8, 13 of 20,...), change duration, note value,....
and the i copy the track and move for timing changes, send to session drummer, dropzone, DP,...

The script below has options to add different types of notes: remove/add the semi-colons as needed. Save to different names.

this script puts in short midi notes. used it recently to send to DP violins and then a delay and panning.

as written it will add short duration notes 4 to a measure (on the qtr), for 10 minutes, at 960 ticks. the midi notes are 10 ticks, so they are not easy to see.

a bunch of the lines are commented and do nothing, used for other scripts. accumulation of debris is the way of all successful DNA.

copy to a notepad and save as "insert qrt notes.cal"

Then, create a midi track, and run this cal script:

    (do
