Clicking OK a hundred times when switching between X2 and X1
When opening an X2 project in X1 I get a bazillion prompts to acknowledge that the ProChannel plugin I am using is not licensed for X1 -- for each and every occurrence of an X2-licensed plug-in.
For example, if I use an X2 template with, say, 24-tracks each with a Console Emulator, and then use BREVERB or TH2 on those tracks (not unreasonable to do), that means almost 50 times I am going to have click "OK" if I open the project in X1. I stumbled across an issue in X2a with lanes that forced me into X1 as a workaround (
see here
).
I am going to request that Cakewalk make this a simple, one-time only dialog prompt with all the occurrences listed in one go. Rather like we have already with missing plugins that are not ProChannel. If anyone else stumbles across this issue, then I encourage you to do the same...either as a request or problem report, depending on your views on this:

The problem with that suggestion is we are not updating X1 anymore. We can address it for future versions though.

Okay Noel, I guess that makes sense since the fix would be in X1 of course. I am struggling a bit with lanes though. Not just workflow issues, but a number of bugs I encountered in my first project. Examining it more carefully now it seems like some of the lanes get linked together so that they seem to have the same internal index. This means that deleting one lane causes the other to be deleted, or moving clips in one lane affects the other. This is really a problem when you are deleting what appears to be an empty lane, or one that is no longer needed, because what you are doing is, in effect, deleting real takes elsewhere inadvertently.
