Clicking a poping when playing mp3's after importing

I imported an MP3 file into Sonar SE 4.03 but when I play it I hear clicking in the background. I play the same MP3 with an MP3 player and it sounds clean with no clicking. I deleted my AUD.ini and ran the audo setup again but I still hear clicking when playing MP3 files. Is there a way to fix this problem?

did you run the wave profiler? That has solved the problem for me a few times in the past. Try that and get bac to us.

Well, I ran the wave profiler and it didn't help. I played with the audio options and found out I could minimize the pops and click by increasing the size of the buffer to maximum but the clicks and pops are still there but not as much. I'm using my built in (on motherboard) C-Medio audio for playback but I also use that when I use a MP3 player (Musicmatch Jukebox or Winamp) and there is no playback problem. Is there a Cakewalk audio playback device that I can use instead of the motherboards for playback?

I see. I wasn't aware of that. Do you not have a dedicated soundcard other than the one on the motherboard?
