Clip Selection / Drag problem

Not sure if this has bee ask before, I couldn't find any mention of it.

I have an issue with selecting clips if you lasso vs click to select.

Take 2 or more clips in the TV, auto cross fade on, slide clips together to create the cross fade.

Drag around clips on the right to just lasso select the right clips.

Grab the clips and slide them to the right.  (trying to move them over a bit or eliminate the cross fade)

If I use the lasso to select them a portion of the left clip that is overlapped is cut off and moved with the right clips.  (Not sure why anyone would want this behavior)

If I use the mouse and click on each clip + ctrl, only the clip I select/move is affected (Expected result)

Is there a setting somewhere to make both selection types work the same?

I just tried this in 8.5.3, it does not behave like this.  This has to be a bug/change with X1.

yes, I had this headache within seconds of launching X1.

The workaround is to launch 8.5 select the clips, move them as you wish, save, close.

Then open back up in X1.

There are other work arounds... but that's the way to do it if you want to use the lasso the way it is advertised to work.
