Clip Selection Question

Hi,
I bet that there is a really simple solution to this but I'm unable to find it in the Sonar help section.
How do I select just the left or right channel of a stereo track so that I can delete the sound on it before I convert the track to mono.
The side that I want to select has some noise on it and it mixes with the other side when I convert it to mono.

What is the easiest way to do this?

Thanks
Craig

    I'm not sure either ....

but what you can do is:
    A.
    1. Solo (isolate) the stereo track
    2. Create a new audio track
      2a. Solo that track too
      2b. Arm it to record
2c. Set it's input to the desired L or R of your audio interface
(You can trial hear it by pressing 'echo on' pressing play. - Dunno if it's just my interface but sometimes I've hit 'echo on' a couple of times to get rid of a static sounding crackle).
    3. Press Record (to record that channel to the new track).
(You can then use the convert to stereo/mono on the new clip as you wish).

    B.
Have a play with the Channel Tool FX on the original track.
You can turn the gain right down on either of the L/R channels.
You can use the sliders to set how far L/R either channel is and the stereo width of it.

    Perhaps simipler is:

    C.
    1. Select your track/clip
    2. Tracks > Bounce to Track(s) ...
      2a. Source Category  - Tracks
2b. Channel Format - Split Mono
      2c. OK

Two mono tracks are created - prepanned in the correct direction (which you can alter)
