Clip gain automation gets freaky in X1
Oy!
I just started having a problem with a project. It's driving me nuts. In some projects I have sound effects (hip hop track I'm working on) and I've made 3 tracks named FX1, FX2, FX3. I copy the multitudes of samples to these tracks. To modify the sounds I use clip automation while leaving the main tracks at 0dB and center pan.
So this is probably related to having a bunch of clips with automation, but at some point, not sure exactly when, X1 started disobeying the clip gain automation. I created timed dips in some of the samples to let the rapping vox cut through better. It seems like the clip volume would follow the lowest node in the automation. So if the lowest point is -30 dB, the whole clip would be played at -30dB, so forth.
Anyone seen this? I just downloaded the latest quick fix and I'm about to apply it. Normally I stay away from patching anything in the middle of working on a session (specially when it's almost done), but I have to try and fix this. That and the stereo -> mono interleave bug is driving me insane.
Thoughts?! I'll post if the hotfix fixes it. I see that it addresses other clip automation issues.
