Clip/Track automation in Track View question...

I do most of my work in the track view, just seem to like it better than the console.  Anyways, I've been recording a song for a local artist and X1 has been wonderful, she's happy and the song sounds great for a singer/songwriter one pass type in my studio.  My issues is when doing automation using the clip drop-down menu and selecting the type of envelope.  That's all fine, I actually like that workflow but when I select a pan or gain envelope for example, the whole clip goes a dark translucent color with the envelope line on it and I can hardly see the waveform behind it to get my editing bearings.  Is there any way to make that translucent background more transparent?  That would be great.
Thanks.

You can change the color of clips and tracks using the Inspector. Click the Clip or Track tab at the top of the Inspector to access Clip or Track Properties. If you change the colors, you can see things better.

Thanks Scott!  Is the automation background a changeable color? (I'm at work right now, can't test myself).

You can change the color of the waveform, the color of the clip background, and/or the color of the Track view background.

The first two can be changed via the Inspector and the Track view background can be changed in Edit > Preferences... Customization - Colors. Choose Track View for the Color Category and then Track View Clips Pane Background from the list.

Yeah I've done those ok, I wondering specifically about the envelope background when you choose an automation envelope from the CLIP dropdown automation box in the track pane.  When you choose whatever envelope you want to automate, the envelope background is annoyingly dense.  Very hard to see the original waveform behind it.  This is what I'm wanting to change, if possible.  I guess it would be the envelope background and I haven't seen that in the Edit>preferences>colors list.
