Colab w/Janet - check it out

For her Majesty... "The Queen."

She sent me a piano .wav that she wanted me to sing on? (Duh!) And I chose to do so? However, I also insisted on being in charge of "over" production? (Duh) So this is what we came up with.

I think it's pretty darn good... (Duh)

I'm playing my fretless, tickling an electric piano underneath that huge Grand, and doing the Orchestra, EWQL Gold strings and Orchestral Percussion, ahhh? Maybe some other things, I forget. It's a pretty big over-production? Oh yeah and singing :-)

And her Majesty is banging on that poor poor Grand! LOL! (JK Janet, I think your playing is "inspired" on this one.)

Submitted for your approval? "The Bridge." At the top.

www.reverbnation.com/rockinrobby

Here's my .wav, I flattened a bit toward the end, but hey, IT GETS HUGE!

Always had a soft spot for Simon and garfunkle's work and this is one of my faves of theirs. Your vocals sound magnificent in this Robby: Loads of feeling in your performance. Tastefull bass parts too. The end part climax sounds especially impressive. Janet's playing is perfect and well up to her ususal great standard. Excellent work, both of you.

Thanks Blipp.  I busted my butt on playing this.  I've played it since the 70's and couldn't wait to record it. Then I listened to the original again and realized he adds SO many cool things that aren't on the sheet music.  So I worked really hard to play it like he did.  I didn't take the time to learn to play it live.  :(  But glad I finally got to record it.  And I figured Robby wouldn't screw up the vocals too badly.  :)

Thanks GP.  I had to work at it!

Thanks Scott.  Yeah, he's learning to sing better, isn't he?  :)

I'd like to place the credit where it's due (points two big thumbs back at face and smiles) Yeah, she contributed some what? I kept sending the piano back saying, "THIS SIMPLY WON'T DO! FIX IT!" And then she helped by nagging for me to finish it? But other than that, and me "dragging her along like a ball and chain?" It's a wonder I was able to make it as good as I did? :-D

    Nice Job.

I remember when this was a radio hit. I was in music theory class (4 students & 1 teacher) and I walked in and Bonnie was setting at the piano playing this note for note. We were all pretty decent musicians. The teacher walked in... Bonnie stopped cause the teacher was very strictly classical.... but the teacher told her to continue.... and proceeded to teach her lesson that day based on this song.

    Where were the door slams?

    Very enjoyable version.

Outstanding performance, Robby. You too, Janet.

My only crit is that when the rest of the orchestration comes in, the piano has to get lowered a db or two.

Herb, she sounds like an outstanding teacher. May her tribe increase!

Thanks, everyone.  Like I said before it was lots of work trying to hear exactly what he was doing and then playing it that way.  I should keep working on it just because.  In between all the other stuff I'm doing.  Maybe some day.  :)

Hey Blipp, thanks a pant load. I'd like to say? For someone who's "tried" to sing one of his? Art has no Wavos... No berries? No man should be forced to try to sing as I as I had to here? I had jumper cables on my nipples for Gods sake!!?? We're glad you enjoyed my climax.

Wow and wow... just a total over-the-top great job on this.  Janet, it seems like every time I hear you play, you sound even more betterer and you were spectacular on this.

Robby, what can I say?  I can only dream about singing a song like this.  Masterful job, as always.

    Great collab, guys and girls.

Thanks Tim.  Better change that to Robby, though.  :)

Thanks Philz.  I AM trying to increase my piano skills.  It's slow and hard, since I can't practice all that much, but it's a fun challenge. Sheesh, with this addiction, who could ever be bored?  :)  Jarrod Radnich is my current hero.  And Terry, (purple rhapsody) is always giving me some great ideas with his playing.   Anyway, thanks a bunch.  :)
