Cold Play at Glastonbury

I started watching, got bored, then got really bored and changed channels and watched Earth Wind and Fire who were a whole lot better.

They're just completely awful Glynn.

Not only have they made a career ripping off U2, Chris Martin is even starting to sound as preachy as Bonio.

Dreadful.

I cannot understand the popularity of that band.

There was a...umm..review of their album 'Ghost Stories' on The Quietus, part of which I'll post here, with the bad words removed;

''They filled the giant void in pop culture in the early 21st century because they are a giant void! Somehow, Martin’s knack for trudging up and down a keyboard like a middle aged man in chinos strolling to the corner shop to buy the  Daily Express while singing like he’d just been kneed in the b*****s caught the zeitgeist of the dullest, do-nothing, think-wishfully generation of all time''

Whilst I largely agree with you, especially with regards to the earlier albums, from Mylo Xyloto on they have improved a bit. A song like Charlie Brown or Adventure of a Lifetime would have been half the tempo on the first album and not as textured.

fully agree on the between-song drivel though.

Cold Play = dislike in a major way - also thought the review was far far too nice

And in the 70's EWandF ... were really good in concert.

I toned it down and picked the least TOS-violating part . Check out the whole review at The Quietus if you want, it's brutal, and hilarious.

Not sure what this means!   (Considering that Sigur Ros is usually pretty good and Cold Play is like... cold playdough!)

I like a lot of Sigur Ros.  A lot of neo-post-rock in general really.  I was worried when I saw this thread pop up.  I thought fashion had changed and all of a sudden I would be expected to like tolerate Cold Play.

Exactly, and Sigur Ros is Icelandic and England were like cold play dough.
