Color ID test

I am setting up some color calibration software and I found this:

http://www.xritephoto.com...me.aspx?action=coloriq

I thought someone may enjoy taking the test.

I did. :-)

best regards,
mike

I did pretty sorry.  I guess.  I was waaay lower than the highest score but that would have to be someone who didn't move any blocks at all:-)

That WAS fun!  You can tell that the longer you stare at those colors the harder it gets (the usual optical illusion issues), but I was happy with my result.  I scored a 4 (pretty good for someone pushing 50).

Whoa..I thought I was doing quite well.

But according to my score (LOW is GOOD??!!)...I'm perfectly average.  I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, though, since I hardly know any color names.  Someone once told me they lived in a taupe house with white trim and lots of rock work in the front yard.  We had two feet of snow on the ground so we couldn't see the rocks.  I had no idea what taupe was.  The white trim saved me.  That, and there being only 3 houses to choose from.  :)

    I scored 19.

ok, I must be dense or something but I don't understand what the "extra" color is supposed to be for.  what do I leave in the lower row?

obviously I do not understand the rules.  I scored a 252!

Please remember that you can only expect to get a good score if your monitor is doing a good job.

I have taken these tests in real life as well. We used color swatches you can touch and see in room light... it seemed a lot easier on those occasions.

VERY INTERESTING!  my ol pal - I assume you saw the same thing I did and therefore we didn't score correctly.  but today on my work computer I don't have that extra square under the row of other squares!

something about this script doesn't work correctly on my computer at home, but it works correctly at work.  maybe it's a win7x64 problem?  at work I'm using winxp.

    it looks OK to me.

I got a 7.  It was interesting to me that the test reported my biggest problem area was in the blue/green part of the spectrum.  That's right where I felt like I struggled the most while doing the test.

Yup...on my work computer the "extra block" is not there.  But it's a crappy screen so I'll try again on another computer.  That's comforting to know because I really thought I'd do pretty well and didn't find the test that difficult.  I'll give it another go and thanks for the heads up regarding the display problem!

Wow, I don't feel so bad...
I got a 4.  Think I missed a couple in the greenish hue, but I only spent about 5 minutes or less on it.
Cool test for my new LCD monitors though.

I think I could probably do better on my good monitor at home, but that's where it doesn't work right and puts one of the squares under the rest of them per category.  you can't do the test correctly that way.

I can only distinguish like three colors plus black.  I have no idea what most of those other colors are.

I can only distinguish about 4 smells.

But I can hear the sound of an engine where the timing is ever so slightly out.  Maybe from few miles away.

I turned my monitor (note singular) off and kept my eyes shut and got less than -3 in half the time you took.
