Colors

I almost feel silly for asking this, as it's not a major issue, but....

Track pane colors. Sometimes I'd rather a certain track not be a muted periwinkle or (gasp) a muted pink. I'd like my blistering leads in fire engine red, TYVM. Is there a way to choose? I've been splitting/combining to get the result I want, but it's like hypnotizing chickens, 'cause it can take awhile.

LOL... does saving them as patterns or device chains work? I've never tried it. Save each "COLOUR" as a pattern? .... probably not, eh? That would have been mentioned already.

I feel your pain though, I hate having that pale blue colour show up three out of 5 times!!! ARGGHHH. Or.. you get 3 blue tracks and finally a pink or green only to modify the pattern (copy of pattern) and have it become blue as well!

SKINS!!!! or at least some other colours or chooseable pallettes!

i find it very helpful as a reminder of how little control i have over so many things

i don't even find it all that useful to name the patterns as I find a certain simplicity in knowing that track 4 is playing Copy 3 of Copy 2 of Pattern 6

I never name my tracks, too lazy to if i'm honest. I do play the loops i make many times over though to help see what a possible arrangement could be. This way i tend to remember what track plays wich part, but having them different colours helps as well i'm sure.

Yeah man, I noticed that a few days ago. Whoohoo! Don't you get a T-Shirt or a free trip to Boston or something????

I'm amazed at how quickly I got to 100. Admit that most of it was BS, but still...

I always name my tracks and patterns. I often get done and realize I've spent an hour being unproductive, but hey... at least the names make sense!

    Congrats from a young Bronze.

Has anyone produced skins for P5?

    nope. you cant.

Freewebs just severly injured your mom, rap killed your dad, popups blinded your brother and cousin, MySpace is planning to murder your sanity and privacy, freeware is still yet to exist, and your two best friends got 404'd out of existence.

Yea naming tracks to me helps me remember later when I go back to the tracks what the track was for, ie drums, strings etc. Some vsti's have so many different sounds that naming them helps me remmeber what bank I used or modified.

I have bad news and worse news:

In your PROJECT5.INI file (C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Project5 Version 2), you have the ability to turn OFF pattern colors by changing this line: UsePatColors=1 to this: UsePatColors=0. So you can make all your colors the SAME (bad news) - and unfortunately (worse news) - it defaults to PINK!
