Come Together

Hi, It's been a while since I've posted anything. Work seems to have taken over. I have a song that one of my old bandmates sent me. It's an old Beatles song.A pretty different version than anything I've ever heard. The song was actually one verse short so I did some creative editing out of Sonar 7XL and copied and pasted another verse in.I did the vocals. My friend and a drummer did everything else.Hope you like it. http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=12327588

I sure know about the work thing :-( cool version, it is a good idea to alter the beat of this well-known song! well sung, too, with the harmonies. My only wish would be if the drum sound could be more powerful, sometimes it seems as if the drummer is only "petting" the drums ;-) but that is just my humble opinion!

Thanks for listening.I'm glad you liked it. I was surprised by the arrangement, but the more I listened to it the more I liked it.I agree with you about the drums. My buddy sent me the instrument parts already mixed so there wasn't anything I could do to bring the drum level up.It was a good reason to crank up my studio again and try some singing.I forgot how much enjoyed playing and recording music. Thanks!

    Hey, Dan,

Very cool cover version of an old rock classic!

I like how the different arrangement really made it your own, and the guitars, drums, bass and vocals sounded great.

    Really nice work!

I was a big Beatle fan growing up , I like the ideal but the mix needs some work .
Also the BPM is too fast for this song , its a slower type song with alot of drive in the music and in the vocals .

Nice listen keep working on it - James

Hey Bob- Glad you like it! It was a lot of fun. Thanks for the vote on the vocals. The vocals were my only real contribution to the song. An old friend of mine sent me the song already mixed minus the vocal and asked me to give it a try. It's the 1st vocals I've recorded in over a year. James- Thanks for listening. I agree the mix does need some work but this was what I had to work with. I was pretty limited in what I could do to improve the mix. My friend wanted to do something completely different than the original and Aerosmith already did a close copy to the original. It was a great reason for me to use my recording studio again be creative.

Nice one!  I like the hard edge feel that you have given the arrangement to this number.  The vocals, performance, and mix all sound great.

Nice change-up of this tune. You must have watched American Idol during Beatles week. LOL
