Small boys in the park..one's gone home for his tea..beans on toast..isn't it?

Yes, come on Stoke! They were my team up until the late '70's when I lost interest. Gordon Banks wuz me hero. I'm cheering 'em on.

James, Nick Owen did an excellent interview with Gordon Banks on Midlands Today the other night - much of it spent walking around the now derelict Victoria Ground. The guys always was, and still is, a real gentleman, and what a 'keeper. A class act all round.

I've tried tracking it down on the BBC i-player for you but it says it's unavailable for some reason.

    City it is then, shame.

Got me thinking about staying at my Uncle's place in Coventry when I was 12 and he took me to see Coventry v. Stoke. Stood right behind the goal and got a great view of Banksy.

George Eastham, Alec Elder, Terry Conroy, proper players..ahh, notalgia ain't what it used to be..

Home of the "Crafty Potter" as Phil Taylor, the best dart player in the World, was once known as (now he's called the "Power" and might still have his MBE if he'd behaving).  Never did play him...

Eric Bristow, the Crafty Cockney, lived in Stoke for a while shacked up with Maureen Flowers. (Excellent Sunday lunch at the Sneyd Arms, Tunstall).

Much as it galls me to say, Man City were the better team on the day. I'll go back and cry into my beer now!

Nah, they're not talking about the "real" stuff.  Heck, they aren't even allowed to use their hands!  (Maybe after they grow up?)
