I'm coming back too!

Wow, many props to Cake for moving this forward (presumably with Gibson's blessing).   I realize it will be a rocky journey at first, but I am looking forward to the Mac alpha.

Can't believe this is really happening...

i left 'home' almost a year ago, come back to visit, then all the buzz of the lifetime deals and upcoming announcements. i got the lifetime deal for $99, a steal, heard the announcements, but i will be staying where i am and not coming back, my home is elsewhere now, but will drop in from time to time to see if sonar gets any of the stuff that i can't do without from my other daw. i can do without everything sonar has, but can't say the same for my current daw of choice. things may change somewhere down the track, but i can't see it in the foreseeable future.

I've used most of the DAWs and they are all very good - But Cakewalk 3.01 is where I got my start...I remember being impressed when Greg Hendershott mentioned how his C code generates assembly language on the fly when they finally added audio. I remember when many argued vociferously that plug-ins would never-ever be a thing. I remember when Cakewalk's mixing engine was still integer based :)

I remember the greatest DAW flame war of-all-time on the old newsgroups. I remember the Mia-Maya-Mea Culpa.

Cakewalk raised me.

Today SONAR for Mac is a dream come true.

Agreed, with cautionary optimism. If sonar4mac is not as functional (3rd party plugs, not just cakewalk plugs, editing tools , etc) I fear it will fail.
They need to take the time and make sure Mac version is every bit as powerful as its PC brother. I'll certainly be back if it is..
