Command Center - What does "update all" do?
I've tried the "update all" option of Command Center a couple of times and it has yet to actually update all of anything (at least not how I expected it to). In the 2017.3 update (which contains an update to Sonar and its documentation), I selected Update ALL for Sonar and the only thing updated was the documentation. I had to go back and update Sonar specifically. When I choose update ALL, I expect all updates indicated in Command Center by a yellow dot to be applied. How is this feature supposed to work?

Yeah, I'll second that. I have noticed the same behavior as you and always wondered what Cakewalk's idea of "all" actually is. The way I see it, if you are at the top of a branch, "update all" should update the item you have selected and all the sub-items underneath it. I have never understood CW's implementation of this.

I surely wish it worked that way too, so I could click and go to bed, then wake up with it all done.

All they have to do is change the name "update all" to "update all doc" and its fixed. Peace

I do not use "Update All" preferring to select the packages requiring update individually and running the Update option. I believe "Update All" updates any children of the currently selected item. It does not update the parent.

It would be nice if they made this clear or re name the button. There has been a lot of threads asking this question now.

Scook is correct, when you select Sonar and then "Update All", it will update all sub-items under Sonar but not Sonar itself. A bit counterintuitive for an "update all" button, especially as the thing that updates most often is Sonar itself.

I'm with Scook. I noticed a long time ago that update all doesn't work as you would expect.

it would be nice if they used checkboxes, then you could check what you want to update, and all checked items would be updated...

that's a lot more work for the devs, to split out lots of different installers, so i wouldn't hold my breath iiwy
