Command Center and Update Questions

I was an early release candidate and have had Platinum since Friday and just received an email with info on the first Sonar update. After installing I have the following questions:

  • Is C3 going to need an update itself every time a new update is made available (much like NI Service Center)?

  • Right clicking can hide a product, but how to I un-hide a hidden product?

  • I have X3 Pro so all I needed to install for Platinum was Platinum itself and Anderton FX Chains. I now have 12 red dot products - am I going to have to install these all again in order to make them go green? Is this needed in order to facilitate any precision updates targeted towards specific products in the futrure (yellow light update signal)? or will potential plugin updates be bundled in with Sonars update (much like Andertons fx chain update appeared to be with this one).

  • Am I supposed to see all my past purchased Pro Channel plugins in C3?
    • looking in my online product list just now I see Connected Products vs. Other products. What is the distinction between these going forwards, and which old/new products will appear in C3?

  • Is the roll back function available yet? am i going to need to keep all my downloaded files in C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Command Center\Downloads for this to work, or can they be deleted?

suggestions:
the bundles (Engineering FX Suite, Plat. Instrument Collection etc..) should list each product included in it on the donwload/info panel.

I was wondering about this too. I'm at work but plan on purchasing Platinum when I get home today. I'll be upgrading from X3e Producer. Can I safely just download the whole package (including stuff that came with X3 Producer), or will this create a bunch of duplicates on my hard drive?

    Hi Guys,

Anytime a new update is released to C3 and we make that available to the public, it will notify you there is an update available when you launch C3. You aren't forced to update but it is highly recommended since we obviously released the update for a reason. Today's update was critical for supporting updates we made to SONAR. You should install it.

Normally these updates would be released independently of any SONAR update schedule, however they can obviously coincide with one another.

As far as C3's awareness of past product installation, unfortunately this is not supported at this time. C3 will only alert you of whether or not the "packages" (for lack of a better term) it is aware of are up to date or not. By packages, I mean things such as "Engineering FX Suite", which just so happen to contain several plug-ins such as Channel Tools, LP64 Multiband, etc.

As far as restoring hidden products, if you log out of Command Center and then back in, it will restore your cache and show any products you decided to hide.

Lastly, rollback is already available, but only available for products and sub-products that have more then one build available to the public.

I hope that helps answer questions!

    Hi Ryan,

Did the update but it appears that nothing changed as far as the updated amp sims from Craig.  I did not get the update button .. Just re-install. Any insight there?

I think I see what happened. Should be fixed. Can you try clicking the "Connected Products" link at the top of C3 so it rebuilds your list. Afterwards, the Anderton collection should show an update is available.

    Ryan,
The connected products update is not working on my end.
I entered my pre-order redemption code & my X3 pro serial, then the cakewalk site "fell over" said the "the internet is not working in our corner".
Redemption now says it is redeemed and go to my products but there is nothing in Command Center - "You Don't have any products"
Have logged with support but was wondering if there was anything I can do link to the platinum download?

Can you send me a private message with your redemption code? Obviously don't paste it publicly.

So, to be clear, if we want to be notified of any updates to the "bundles" (for lack of a better term) that already existed in X3e Producer we should reinstall via C3? I only installed the Platinum update and the Anderton Fx.

yeah I am still unclear on this. do things need to be 'green' before than can qualify to become 'yellow'?

I am just now seeing the anderton chain update has gone through. Ideally the parent directory SONAR Platinum should changed to yellow also to indicate one of the sub bundles has an update.

When you log out C3 wipes all of its 'local knowledge' of what it did. In the case of 3rd party products and plugin installers it doesn't always  have a way of knowing if they're installed or up-to-date.

Is there a way to stop an install in CC?
Will closing CC abort the install or will it continue downloading in the background ?
When I started the Platinum install it said 3 hrs 50 mins to complete.
This was not convenient at the time and I would have deferred it until bedtime but like Eddie's dog Snot, I thought it best to just let it finish.

I installed all the Platinum items manually so I could specify where they went. If I tell CCC to install (because they only show red right now) will it use the previously installed locations or will it override and install to C:? I DO NOT WANT them installed on C: and I want CCC to reflect that they are installed... HELP??? :)
