Comp edit question on tiny gaps between appended (pasted) clips

If I append a combination of audio and MIDI clips from the middle of a project to the end of a project (pasting to the same set of tracks as copied from), SONAR often inserts a tiny blank space between the previous end of the project and the beginning of the pasted clips.  The space seems to be anywhere from just a millisecond or two to as much as 13 or 14 milliseconds.

Any reason for this?  Any way to avoid it?  Is SONAR syncing all the pasted material to some MIDI track boundary?  (I noticed the gap doesn't occur when I only append audio clips.)

I'm using X1 Producer Expanded.    Quantize is turned off.

Do you have either "Snap to nearest zero audio crossing" checked in the snap preferences or MIDI landmarks turned on?

The first can sometimes put the now time slightly off from the expected snap point depending on material, the second may snap to notes rather than the clip edge.

I don't have MIDI landmarks enabled, but the Zero Audio Crossing checkbox is checked under Preferences.  I can see how that was causing some adjustment in the positioning of the pasted clips.

    Thanks!
